Prince Alfred Park will host the 8th Surry Hills Festival, on Saturday 13 October, 2007. The Festival offers a wide variety of entertainment options, so make sure you get there early, at 10:00am.

- Actors Centre Australia presents Dramatic INtent with presentations from leading acting educationalists, professional actors, casting directors and agents.
- The Lilypad: Duckpond, Larry, Heavy G and Christo, with special guests
- Surry Hills Dog Show Off: Hosted by Sassy Treats, registrations on Festival Day
- Art Alfresco: An exhibition featuring works from emerging artists

Arts on Bourke / Mascot Graphic Arts Club
Arts on Bourke (464 Bourke St, Surry Hills) is sponsoring a $5000 Art Competition, the subject is open; non-acquisitive and the medium may be pastels, water colours, oils, multimedia, acrylics.

Entry is $30; the entry form must be submitted to the Mascot Graphic Arts Club, 182 Coward St., Mascot, 2020 by Tuesday 4 September 2007, and art must be delivered to Arts on Bourke on Thursday 4 October (11-4) or Friday 5 October (6-9). Selected entries will be displayed until Wednesday 31 October, as well as at the Surry Hills Festival.
